Rehabilitation Plans for Empire Boat Dock May 12, 2022
The City of Coos Bay Empire fishing dock has been closed since September 2021. City staff has been working with engineers to develop a long-term repair to the aging pier. The City has contracted with ZCS Engineering and Architecture and plans to rehabilitate the pier are underway. The rehabilitation includes structural upgrades as well as ADA compliant updates to the pier with rail modifications and improvements in accessibility. The City is excited to make these improvements and increase accessibility for all. The project is currently on schedule with final completion scheduled for late summer/early fall.
