Construction Update on Plant No. 2 January 17, 2018

The most visible structure of new Wastewater Treatment Plant No. 2 is the headworks. The tallest component of the plant, the headworks will have wastewater pumped upwards, then processed through all the treatment basins via gravity flow. This is important because when pumping is minimized at a plant, the operations costs are lower.

The roof will be installed in the near future, but the structural portion is almost complete. There is still a great deal of mechanical equipment to be installed in the interior of the headworks. Rest assured, while you may not see as much activity from outside of the plant, there is activity happening within.
