Fun Festival Activity Routes September 12, 2016

THE PREFONTAINE MEMORIAL RUN ROUTE - ROADS CLOSED Saturday, Sept. 17th from 9:00 am – 11:30 am

The Prefontaine Memorial run route begins on Anderson Avenue and 4th Street (former Fire Department site), it continues west on Anderson Avenue onto Central Avenue, then onto Ocean Blvd., and ending at Norman Street.  The route then returns back onto Ocean Blvd. to Central Ave., turns south on 10th Street passing Blossom Gulch Elementary School, then turns east onto Elrod Street, and then south on South 9th Street.  The route ends at the Marshfield High School track.  

FUN FESTIVAL PARADE ROUTE - ROADS CLOSED Saturday, Sept.17th from 12:30 pm – 2:15 pm

Parade route begins at Golden & South 4th Street heading north on South 4th Street to Commercial Avenue where you’ll turn east on Commercial Avenue to 2nd Street.  Turn right heading south on 2nd Street to Anderson Avenue, turn right on to Anderson Avenue for about 80 ft. then turn left (south) on 2nd Street head south to Elrod Avenue where the parade ends.

CRUZ THE COOS ROUTE - ROADS CLOSED Saturday, Sept. 17th from 5:30 pm – 8:00 pm

The Cruz route begins at Golden and South 2nd Street heading north on South 2nd Street to Anderson Avenue where you make the one-block jog east and continue northbound on North 2nd Street to Commercial Avenue.

Head west on Commercial, south on 3rd Street, west on Anderson Avenue, north on North 4th Street, turn westbound again on Commercial, southbound on North 7th Street, and eastbound on Anderson Avenue.   At South 4th Street head south to Elrod Avenue where you will turn east and proceed to where it ends at South 2nd Street.

STARTING SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 17th AT 6:00 a.m. TEMPORARY “NO PARKING” SIGNS WILL BE POSTED AND NO PARKING WILL BE ALLOWED

All area residents and visitors should be aware that for the safety of the runners, parade participants, and cruisers, all drivers will be prohibited from entry to these streets between the posted times, and they will need to use alternate routes.  Coos Bay Police Officers, City staff, National Guard, and many volunteers will be posted throughout these events routes, and they will be available to assist the public by redirecting them to alternate routes as needed.
